My wife and I needed two or three days away and I wanted to stay close enough to home so we would have more time staying and less time driving. I found this place during an internet search and it was less than four hours away. The cottages were appealing to us because we wanted to be alone. This place was perfect for what we wanted. The cottage (Sweet Surrender) was wonderful and comfortable. The whole property was beautifully maintained and the view of the private lake from the porch was great during breakfast or the whole time for that matter. The breakfast was great too. The local restaurants serve great Cajun cuisine in this area too so we enjoyed some good food during our stay. If you are looking for a couple's getaway I have to say this place is a winner! Thank you to Maison D'Memoire for doing what you do well!
Our stay in the Autumn cottage surpassed my expectation. Attention to detail in every area was outstanding including bottled water and lemonade in the fridge to the amenities in the bathroom. Beautiful antiques and the warm ambiance made us feel comfortably at home. Lynn recommended we try Prejeans for dinner and it was fantastic as well! Having fresh fruit and Lynn's amazing breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us!
My wife and I visited the Autumn Cottage celebrating our third wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay.
The cottage and property are absolutely beautiful! Mrs. Lyn delivered an AMAZING three course breakfast to our door in a picnic basket both mornings between 8 and 8:30am that included a printout of the weather for the day and a menu of the breakfast with a prayer for the day. The addition of fresh lemonade, juices and water in the refrigerator along with stocked cabinets of community coffee and condiments was nice! We loved sipping our coffee in the rockers on the front porch...it was quiet and peaceful. Mrs. Lyn recommended Imonelli’s in Lafayette for our anniversary dinner and the crab cakes were to die for! The second night we ordered crawfish enchiladas from Chef Roy’s right around the corner which we highly recommend.
Outstanding place. Clean room, privacy, beautiful grounds, friendly staff and great breakfast. Lots of nice little touches that make it extra special. Will definitely return.
Our getaway was amazingly relaxing and we can’t wait to return in the years to come! We plan to stay in the Country Garden Cottage next.
What an experience! Breakfast had variety, freshness, and authenticity. The cabin was rustic but with all the creature comforts of today. Great hosts. The swamp tour was excellent. And dinner at the recommended restaurant, Chef Roy's, was very good. We went twice. And we plan on coming back to Maison d'Memoire.
